The Full Review: Sushi Tokyo Ten Best Value Omakase in Tokyo

I made reservations exactly 2 months in advance for a Saturday lunch at 11am at the Shibuya location. Booking well ahead is highly recommended as tables fill up fast.

Upon arriving, the restaurant was a bit tricky to find at first – it’s located on the 3rd floor of the Shibuya Stream complex, but the interior section of the mall was closed off. Follow signs towards Shibuya Stream Excel Hotel Tokyu, take the escalators up and the restaurant is towards the back.

We sat at the sushi counter for the best views of the chef preparing our omakase. As it was just the two of us, the friendly chef made our pieces slightly smaller since he could tell I was getting very full by the 18th piece.

The omakase starts with some standout appetizers like the abalone and its rich, decadent liver sauce. The braised monkfish liver was another surprise hit, melted-in-your mouth delicious.

The quality of the seafood is excellent, especially for the price. At just ¥4,400 ($37), feasting on melt-in-your-mouth fatty tuna, sweet scallops, uni and ikura seems unbelievable. The otoro and uni were clear standouts – gloriously buttery and sweet.

While there’s no Wagyu beef, the variety of fish and ocean treats you get to try is truly impressive for an amazing value. I couldn’t even finish the full 25+ pieces before needing a break!
