HOW TO GET FROM HANEDA TO Tokyo CITY CENTER
If you’re traveling to Tokyo, you’ll likely arrive at Haneda or Narita International Airport. Once you’ve landed, you’ll need to figure out the best way to get to your destination in Tokyo. I’ll go over 3 most efficient ways to get from Haneda to Tokyo.
Haneda international airport is in Tokyo, and it is the closer option compared to Narita airport. It’s the proffered fly in airport as it is much closer to Tokyo city center. There are monorails, trains, and busses, and private transfers available, I’ll discuss the different options below
Traveling by Train from haneda to tokyo CITY CENTER
One option is to take the train. The Tokyo Monorail is a popular choice, as it offers a direct connection between Haneda Airport and Hamamatsucho Station. From there, you can transfer to other train lines to reach your final destination. If you have a Japan Rail Pass, you can use it on the monorail and other JR lines, making this a cost-effective option. However, if you have a lot of luggage, navigating train stations can be challenging so keep this in mind especially if you’re going during rush hour.
If you’re looking for a fast and efficient way to get from Haneda Airport to Tokyo, taking the train is your best option. Here are some of the train options available:
The Tokyo Monorail is a great option if you’re heading to central Tokyo. It runs from Haneda Airport to Hamamatsucho Station, which is on the Yamanote Line. From there, you can easily transfer to other train lines to get to your final destination. The journey takes around 15-20 minutes and costs €4 (¥490)
the photo above is of the ticket booth on for the monorail, you can see the stops and prices at the transfer station. Also notice it says “Jr rail” line so you can use your Jr pass to connect from the Hamamatsucho Station. Although that means you would have to have your JR rail pass activated already. It may be better just to pay for the fare with your Suica card since it’s pretty affordable.
Keikyu Airport Lin
The Keikyu Airport Line is another good option if you’re heading to central Tokyo. It runs from Haneda Airport to Shinagawa Station, which is a major transportation hub. From there, you can transfer to other train lines to get to your final destination. The journey takes around 20-25 minutes and costs €3.30 (¥410).
Japan Rail Pass
If you have a Japan Rail Pass, you can use it to take the JR trains from Haneda Airport to Tokyo Station. This is a great option if you’re planning to travel around Japan during your trip. The journey takes around 30-40 minutes and costs nothing if you have a Japan Rail Pass.
TIP: You have to purchase your JR rail pass in your home country as you cannot purchase it once you’re in Japan! you can choose the activation day once you go exchange your JR pass voucher at the airport. Very important to know you need to have the JR pass on you at all times and if you lose it you cannot get another copy. Also, you’ll need to get your JR rail pass in your home country at least 3 weeks before your trip and do not forget to bring it with you to Japan.
When you arrive at Tokyo Station, you can easily transfer to other train lines to get to your final destination. The Yamanote Line, which circles central Tokyo, is a good option if you’re not sure which train line to take.
Overall, taking the train from Haneda Airport to Tokyo is a fast and efficient way to get to your final destination. Whether you choose the Tokyo Monorail, Keikyu Airport Line, or Japan Rail Pass, you’ll be able to get to central Tokyo quickly and easily.
