Quan Nem Nim Hoa
STOCKTON BLVD
Must-Try: Nem Nuong Cuon
4.0/5.0 1,430 Reviews
The first time I had this was in LA at Brodards. When I moved to Sacramento I was so surprised to learn that we have a comparable nem cuon place right here in town! This is definitely one of the best Vietnamese restaurants in Sacramento! If you’ve never had Nem Nuong Cuon, you may be familiar with Vietnamese spring rolls, well Meet Vietnamese Spring Roll’s older sister, “Nem Nuong Cuon”. This is a specialty dish that originated from the Ninh Hoa province in Vietnam, about 30 km from the coastal city of Nha Trang. It’s delicious grilled pork meatballs rolled in rice paper and dipped in a spicy umami-filled secret sauce.
Tip: You can order the premade rolls or you can get the house special which is a family-style diy roll! Fyi, their chilies are EXTRA spicy! Enjoy with caution!
2
Saigon Oi
STOCKTON BLVD
Must Try: Banh Canh Cua
4.5 /5.0 385 Reviews
One of the newest and my top picks for best Vietnamese restaurants in Sacramento. Saigon Oi was just opened in 2021 and it already has a huge fan base as it is the only Vietnamese restaurant in Sacramento that serves an amazing “Banh Canh Cua”, crab udon soup. It’s a hearty thick broth udon soup that warms your soul! Don’t let the small bowl fool you, you will be full! Another great dish you need to try is their Banh Khot. They are the only restaurant that has banh khot sacramento. Banh Khot are like mini Banh Xeos and are so crunchy and delicious!
3
Duc Huong Sandwiches
STOCKTON BLVD
Must-Try: Best vietnamese sandwich in sacramento
If you’re looking for the best Vietnamese sandwich in Sacramento look no further than Duc Huong. This is the spot for banquettes and sandwiches everyone I know who is Vietnamese goes to. For $6 you’ll get a large sandwich that’s delicious! Their Combo #1 is my go-to. Call ahead because the lines get crazy long. Their pate is seriously amazing and you can buy it to bring home. I do and make my sandwiches at home. But the early bird gets the worm, they usually sell out on the weekend by 9 am. Bring cash and call ahead!

Quan Nem Ninh Ha
LITTLE SAIGON SACRAMENTO
Must Try: Banh Xeo
Definately the best Vietnamese restaurants in Sacramento for Banh Xeo. Banh Xeo is a traditional Vietnamese crepe with a crispy, coconutty shell with pork and shrimp and bean sprouts on the inside. The yellow color is from the turmeric powder. But it doesn’t taste like turmeric at all! You wrap up chunks of it into the salad and dip it in the fish sauce. Yumm…
5
Bon Mua
LITTLE SAIGON SACRAMENTO
Must Try: NY strip Pho
My favorite and the best pho restaurant in Sacramento. Their broth is consistent and tasty without too much star anise. It tastes more homemade. They also have fresh noodles which I love. Just a heads up, they are closed on Tuesday!
6
Banh Cuon Tay Ho
LITTLE SAIGON SACRAMENTO
Must Try: Banh Cuon #12 special
This is the best Vietnamese restaurant in Sacramento that makes this specialty dish called Banh Cuon. Tay Ho is the place to get some of these delicious meat rolls! It’s like a rice noodle roll with pork filling you eat with fish sauce. It’s delicious and there are several varieties you can get. The special is my go-to and one of the best banh cuon places in Sacramento. They have other yummy dishes but this is their specialty.
7
Pho City
LITTLE SAIGON SACRAMENTO
Must Try: Bun Bo Hue
This is the best Vietnamese restaurants in Sacramento for Bun Bo Hue. BBH is a famous spicy beef noodle soup from the Hue region. Pho City has been my favorite next to Pho King 2 Bun Bo Hue. It’s a savory deep beef flavor with thick round rice noodles. You can adjust the spiciness level and add more spice yourself. If you’ve never tried it, I promise you will love it! You can skip the pork blood if that’s not your jam/
8
Co Do Restaurant
LITTLE SAIGON SACRAMENTO
Must Try: Bun Rieu (Tomato Crab /shrimp Soup)
Another one of my favorites is Bun RIeu (a tomato crab noodle soup) I often make this at home but when I don’t feel like cooking my go-to place for bun rieu in Sacramento is Co Do. Their soup is the best tasting. I often get it for takeout.
9
Bon Mua
LITTLE SAIGON SACRAMENTO
Must Try: Rice Dish
Another vote for Bon Mua, their rice dishes are the best. Their serving size is huge and the taste and quality is superb. it’s my husband’s favorite place for a rice dish. Their grilled pork is the best!
Have you tried any of these? Let me know which one is your favorite!
