I’m a Sacramento blogger and a Vietnamese local. Growing up in a Vietnamese household, I’d say my expectations of what I’d consider a good bowl of authentic pho are above average. And lucky for us, Sacramento has heaps of Pho places to try.
As I have tried almost all the pho places in town throughout the years, I have a few go-to favorite pho restaurants in Sacramento that I keep coming back to over and over. So in this article, I’m sharing my favorite and best authentic Pho in Sacramento.

The Best Pho in Sacramento | The best pho restaurants In Sacramento
Sacramento has a thriving Vietnamese community and along with it a melting pot of Vietnamese culinary delights that rivals SoCal. Little Saigon in Sac is the largest next to LA and San Jose. We have awesome pho sprinkled all over town, including Midtown, Elk Grove, and Downtown. As a Bay Area transplant, I’m happy to report that I adjusted perfectly fine moving to Sacramento! Throughout the years of living here, I found some classics and new hot spots that just elevate my soul-warming favorite soup to the next level. Authentic, delicious, and right in the heart of the capital city! Let me introduce you to some of my favorite go-to pho noodle soup spots in Sac!
N O. 1
Bon Mua Pho
LITTLE SAIGON
Must-Try: NY Strip Pho
Bon Mua translates to four seasons in Vietnamese. They have fresh noodles (freshly made, softer, thicker pho noodles), and good quality beef soup, and their service is always friendly and accommodating. Try their NY strip Pho, the protein will come on a side plate with a separate hot bowl of soup so you can cook/dip your protein in at the doneness level you’d like. Their rice dishes are excellent as well. This is my go-to spot when I’m craving a quick delicious bowl of pho. Keep in mind, they are closed on Tuesdays!

Sit Lo Saigon pho in Sacramento
ELK GROVE
Must Try: Hanoi Style Pho
This is the most authentic Hanoi-style pho in Sacramento. Their branding is on point and the broth is savory and clear. Their MO is easy, you order at the counter, take a number, and find a seat. The Hanoi style of Pho emphasizes the ingredients and broth. Not so much the condiments and star anise the other pho is commonly known for. It’s more of a homestyle pho! The meat is plenty and delicious. This is my favorite style of Pho and I like coming here if I’m in the area. Parking is a bit difficult since street parking on L Street will test your patience.
N O. 3
Chao Bay Pho Restaurant
LITTLE SAIGON
Must-Try: Oxtail Pho
This tucked-away family-owned shop serves a hearty bowl of oxtail pho. The broth has depth and you can tell that it has been made with care. The oxtail is fall-off the bone is soft and the service is quick and always friendly. They have other kinds of pho too but this is one of their specialties. It’s my go-to when I am craving a bowl of oxtail pho
N O. 4
Pho City Pho in Sacramento
LITTLE SAIGON SACRAMENTO
A traditional Vietnamese Pho restaurant. They are similar to Bon Mua and serve a large menu of different dishes. Their pho broth is good and their protein is tender and they are consistent in quality! They also offer fresh noodles. The style of pho is more of a traditional Southern style pho. After Bon Mua, this is my next go-to when I’m craving a bowl of pho.
