What we Think about the Conrad bora bora review:

The rooms/owb’s. Super luxe and updated. First visit here 2 years ago we stayed in a hilltop ocean-view bungalow. Very spacious with beautiful views of the ocean. The most recent stay was in OWB #124.

All I can say is WOW!!! Sliders that open all the way across for seamless indoor/outdoor living! Bluetooth speakers in the overwater bungalow and on the large spacious deck. We loved listening to our own music on the deck. Cool retractable TV at the foot of the bed!

We had a plunge pool that we used daily as it was a bit too windy to use floats in the ocean. Views from our bungalow were outstanding! Many say a negative of the Conrad is lack of Mt. O. views…I beg to differ!

From our deck/pool/hammock, we had the most gorgeous view to the left of lush palm trees with the majestic mountain in the background, we loved it and thought it was even more beautiful than a view of just the mountain, my pics don’t do it justice! We also had beautiful sunrises to the left of our deck. Straight in front of our deck was the beautiful blue ocean.

The beautiful grounds and bike paths. Bikes are located around the resort and are at a first come first serve basis. We biked around the resort daily taking in the beautiful scenery!

The spacious zero infinity pool area with in-water recliners, cabanas (first come first serve no fee!), complimentary sunscreen, aloe vera and cold water, swim-up pool bar! Best pool of the 3 by far. The pool faces the ocean, a huge plus!

The beaches. Best beaches of the 3. Snorkeling from these beaches was good but not nearly as good at Le Moana.

Breakfast-the buffet here is OUTSTANDING!! The very best pastries and many other options. Juice options could be more varied and expansive.

What we didn’t love at the Conrad Bora Bora:

Dinners. They are expensive and mediocre at best with the exception of Upa Upa Lounge which had very good sushi but quite pricey, also loved the location and ambiance of Upa Upa. Dinner restaurants at the Conrad need improving. Since dinners here are underwhelming, we chose to take the water taxi ($39 pp round trip). The biggest issue with this is not the cost (still ended up cheaper off-property with better food), it’s with the set times of 6 pm departure and 9 pm pickup. Even if a dinner stretches out 2 hours, you still have an hour to kill and nothing is really open at that time.

Pro & Cons of St. Regis Bora Bora Resort

Pros

  • Ultra-private villas more like homes
  • Butler service providing personalized attention
  • Attentive staff and fantastic dining

Cons

  • Enormous property requires getting around

Who Should Stay at St Regis Bora bora

The St. Regis attracts affluent travelers, from celebrities to executives to multi-generational families. Guests value privacy and appreciate the subtle luxury of expert service.

St Regis is frequented by Celebrities – like Justin Bieber and Nicole Kidman (who honeymooned here with Keith Urban).

Note: The resort ranked Number  9 in TripAdvisor’s 2023 Traveler’s Choice Awards for the “Top 25 Hotels in the South Pacific” – ahead of all other French Polynesia resorts! It’s definitely more luxury and not as laid back as other resorts. You get a personal butler.!

The St. Regis Bora Bora Resort is a luxurious all-inclusive resort located on a private motu with views of Mount Otemanu. The resort features overwater bungalows and beachfront villas with private pools, as well as a range of dining options, including a fine-dining restaurant and a beachside bar. The all-inclusive package includes meals and select beverages, as well as a range of activities such as snorkeling, kayaking, and paddleboarding.

What we loved at The St Regis Bora bora:

The food. The food here was consistently good at each meal. Best food of the 3 resorts by far. Lagoon Restaurant is a must do! We loved the breakfasts here which were menu-based and not buffet. Themed dinner nights were surprisingly good!

Assigned bikes. Every person is assigned a bike that you use during your stay. We loved this! There were a few times at the Conrad where there were no bikes available.

Spacious Overwater Bungalow. More room than what we needed honestly. We did not have a plunge pool but didn’t miss it. The wind was minimal and we enjoyed floating off our deck. The Interior was not as nice as the Conrad, but still very nice.

Lagoonatarium. This was awesome, tons of fish, and some were huge! We enjoyed riding our bikes to the lagoon and snorkeling.

Bora Bora Overwater bungalow all-inclusive

All-Inclusive Resorts in Bora Bora

Are you looking for the best all-inclusive bora bora resorts and vacation package? Well, I have some news for you! All-inclusive Bora Bora resorts are a little bit different from what you’re used to, I’ll explain below.

When you think of an all-inclusive bora bora resort, you may compare it to a Mexico “all-inclusive resort” which typically includes all-you-can drinks and all-you-can-eat food is included.

When you book all-inclusive vacation packages in Bora Bora, your package will typically include your flights, accommodations, and some meals ( breakfast if you’re a genius member like I am!).

Some Bora Bora resorts offer a dining package you can purchase that will include breakfast and dinner. Drinks aren’t typically included and will be an additional cost. These packages are typically considered “half board”.

You can, of course, book a Bora Bora vacation package on Expedia to bundle your flight and hotel like most all-inclusive vacations and add on a half-board package from the resort. This means that a 3-course dinner will be included in your stay. It comes out to be less expensive than paying the standard restaurant prices.

From my experience, We stayed at the 4 star Le Bora Bora Resort and booked our flights separately, because I was a genius member at booking, we received complimentary delicious breakfast daily during our stay.

You can get an amazing deal if you package it together if you go during shoulder season to Bora Bora.

The hotel offered us dinner and lunch packages we could add on that were about $100-$200 per day depending on which package we chose (dinner, or lunch+dinner package) for the both of us. It’s a good deal if you just want to not have to think about the details and enjoy your awesome dream holiday.

How to Get to Bora Bora

Reaching Bora Bora takes effort, but the rewards are endless. Most travelers fly into Faa’a International Airport in Papeete, Tahiti. Air Tahiti offers several daily flights from here to Bora Bora’s Motu Mute Airport. The 50-minute flight showcases Bora Bora’s iconic silhouette from the air – a pearl necklace of tiny islets fringed by white sand and emerald waters.

Read my detailed guide on how to get to bora bora

In my experience, spending a night in Papeete helps adjust to the time change before heading to Bora Bora. The InterContinental Tahiti Resort & Spa is conveniently located five minutes from the airport.

Another option is to fly into Raiatea Airport and take a boat to Bora Bora. This adds a sailing adventure to your itinerary.

Upon arriving, I suggest settling in before exploring the island. Bora Bora is small at just 6 miles long and 2 miles wide, making it easy to navigate. Renting bicycles or 4×4 vehicles allows you to discover secluded beaches, WWII cannons, and viewpoints of Mount Otemanu.

No matter how you arrive, the ultimate base for exploring Bora Bora is its legendary overwater bungalows. Let’s dive in to find the perfect resort for you.

Bora Bora Travel Tips

  • Pack reef shoes, floats/floaties and your own snorkel mask for the best overwater bungalow experience.
  • Get a rash guard top, the sun here is immensely strong
