Pink walls and agave at Camino Real Polanco.
Three days, three neighborhoods: the Centro Histórico, Roma and Condesa, and Coyoacán. The route I give clients for a first taste of Mexico City.

My first morning in Mexico City started the way I hope all of yours do: dropping my bags at Nima Local House, a tiny four-room hotel in Roma Norte, and walking straight to Panadería Rosetta for a guava roll that I still think about. That’s the spirit of this route. Unhurried, delicious, and built around the neighborhoods that make this city so easy to fall for.
The ask
Almost every client heading to Mexico City asks me the same thing: I only have three days, what would you do? Here’s my honest answer. I spent seven full days here on my own and still felt I’d only scratched the surface, so if you can stretch to four, do. But three days, done well, is a gorgeous introduction.
The secret is one neighborhood a day. Mexico City is enormous, and the trips that feel magical are the ones that don’t spend half the day in traffic. So this route gives each day its own corner of the city: the historic center, Roma and Condesa, and Coyoacán.
