Driving Directions to Cala moros

If you’re coming from Palma de Mallorca:

1. Take the Ma-19 highway towards Santanyí.
2. Exit onto the Ma-6100 towards Ses Salines.
3. Continue on Ma-6100 until you reach Santanyí.
4. From Santanyí, follow signs to Cala Llombards.
5. Once in the Cala Llombards area, look for signs to Caló des Moro.

Where to park at Cala des Moro

1. Main Parking Lot
   • Location: Camí de Cala Llombards

   • This is the largest and most convenient parking area. The lot is a dirt lot with no markers but fits a lot of cars. 
   • Capacity: Approximately 50-60 cars
   • Free parking

Helpful Tip: This lot fills up quickly, especially in peak season (July-August). Aim to arrive before 9 AM to secure a spot.

1. Street Parking
   • Available along Carrer des Caló des Moro and nearby streets
   • Limited spaces
   • Be extremely mindful of parking restrictions and private property
2. Overflow Parking
   • If the main lot is full, look for spaces along the sides of Camí de Cala Llombards
   • Ensure you’re not blocking traffic or private driveways

Helpful Tip: Save your parking location on google maps. There were several people who couln’t find their cars. 

Warning: Some residents put up signs claiming the road is private. While you can still access the beach, respect any official no-parking zones.

There are several routes to get to Calo Des Moro beach- here’s the routes I’d recommend.

From Parking Lot to Caló des Moro Beach

Starting Point: Main Parking Lot

Location: Camí de Cala Llombards Coordinates: 39.330581, 3.128306

Route 1: Via Cala S’Almunia (Recommended for most visitors)

1. Exit the parking lot and turn right onto Camí de Cala Llombards.
2. Walk about 150 meters until you reach the intersection with Carrer des Caló des Moro.
3. Turn left onto Carrer des Caló des Moro.
4. Follow this road for approximately 600 meters. The road will curve to the right and begin to descend.
5. You’ll reach a point where the paved road ends and a set of concrete stairs begins. This is the access point to Cala S’Almunia.
6. Descend the stairs carefully – there are about 100 steps.
7. At the bottom of the stairs, you’ll be at Cala S’Almunia. Take a moment to enjoy this small cove if you wish.
8. To continue to Caló des Moro, look for a dirt path on your left (when facing the sea).
9. Follow this coastal path for about 200 meters. It will lead you along the cliffside.
10. You’ll soon see Caló des Moro come into view. The path will lead you down to the beach.

Route 2: Scenic Clifftop Path (For more adventurous hikers)

1. From the parking lot, walk back towards Camí de Cala Llombards.
2. Turn left onto Carrer des Castellet.
3. Follow Carrer des Castellet to its end. You’ll see a dirt path continuing straight ahead.
4. Take this path and follow it as it winds through scrubland and along the clifftops.
5. After about 500 meters, you’ll reach a fork in the path. Take the left fork.
6. Continue along this path. You’ll start to see glimpses of the sea on your left.
7. After another 300 meters or so, you’ll reach a viewpoint overlooking Caló des Moro.
8. From here, carefully follow the path down to the beach. There may be some steep sections.

Total distance: Approximately 1.2 km Estimated time: 20-25 minutes

• Both routes involve uneven terrain and some steep sections. Wear appropriate footwear (no flip-flops).
• Bring water, especially in summer. There’s no shade on most of the path.

• In peak season, you may encounter other hikers. Be patient and courteous, especially in narrow sections.
