What is the best part of Mykonos to stay is in? As someone whos been to Mykonos 3 times, I recommend you stay in Mykonos Town, also known as Chora, is the main town of the island. Mykonos Town is the best place to stay if you want to be in the center of the action.

I stayed here the past 2 times I visited Mykonos and would highly recommend it since it’s right in the heart of everything. You will not need a car as the buses and public transportation and walking will get you easily anywhere you want to go.

The town has a charming old-world feel with its white-washed buildings, narrow alleys, and colorful doors. You can explore the many boutique shops, cafes, bars, and restaurants that line the streets. The nightlife is fun and there are so many amazing bars with the best sunset views. You can also visit the iconic windmills and Little Venice, two of the most famous landmarks in Mykonos.

2. Ornos

Ornos is a popular area for families and couples. It has a beautiful sandy beach with calm waters, making it an excellent place for swimming and sunbathing. There are also several restaurants and cafes that serve traditional Greek cuisine. Ornos is only a 10-minute drive from Mykonos Town, so you can easily visit the town if you want to experience the nightlife. I would recommend you stay here if you want a quieter relaxing experience that’s not too far away from the main town.

3. Platis Gialos

Platis Gialos is another area that is popular with families and couples. Platys Gialos is also one of the most popular beaches in Mykonos. I stayed here once it’s much quieter than being closer to town. It has a long sandy beach with crystal-clear waters, making it an ideal place for swimming and water sports. Also, a great place to visit if you want to enjoy the sun rays and lay around and enjoy a refreshing dip in the Aegen sea. There are also several beach bars and restaurants that serve fresh seafood and other Mediterranean dishes. Platis Gialos is only a 15-minute drive from Mykonos Town.

4. Psarou

Psarou is the most exclusive area in Mykonos, and it’s where you’ll find some of the most luxurious resorts on the island. The beach is small but stunning, with crystal-clear turquoise waters. It’s a popular spot for yacht owners and celebrities, so you might spot some famous faces. There are also several high-end restaurants and beach clubs in the area. Psarou is only a 10-minute drive from Mykonos Town.
